Bush writing his successor the following letter:
Dear President Obama:
As you know I've been peddling my book Decision Points and while doing interviews, people ask me what I think of the job you're doing. My answer is the same: He deserves to make decisions without criticism from me. It's a tough enough job as it is.
But their inquiries did prompt me to write you to privately express my continual admiration for the job you are doing. Amazing! I say "privately" because making my sentiments public would not do either of us any good, if you know what I mean.
First, I can scarcely believe my good fortune as to how your foreign and military policies--"continuity" was the word used recently by my good friend, Joe Lieberman--has protected my legacy. More than protected, you've proven yourself just as able--and I may say sometimes even more so--to "kick ass" as my Daddy used to say.
Overseas, all I see are five stars. You are roaring in Afghanistan, dispatching our great special forces into Yemen, saying, like me, that you'll go anywhere in the world to kill those terrorists. When you said you would assassinate American citizens abroad suspected of "terrorism"--that news came over the radio during breakfast when I was eating my shredded wheat and I almost choked with amazement. You got cajones, buddy. I was hesitant about crossing the border into Pakistan--but you, man, are blasting away. Even Dick, who would never say it publically, told me he is impressed.
The Leftists are always trying to have your policies show me up negatively. Hah--they're having one hell of a tough time, aren't they?
Me state secrets, you state secrets. Me executive privilege, you executive privilege. Me stop the release of torture videos, you backed me up. Me indefinite detention, you indefinite detention. Me extraordinary rendition; you extraordinary rendition. Me sending drones, you sending tons more, flying 24/7. Me just had to look the other way on collateral damage, you doing the same and protecting our boys doing it. Me approving night time assassination raids, you're upping the ante especially since General Petraeus took over. Me beefing up Defense, you not skipping a beat. Me letting the CIA loose, you told them operate at large. Me demanding no pictures of our fallen troops, you doing the same, but allowing the families to go to Dover which I should have done.
There is one big difference. I never cracked a law book. You are a top Harvard lawyer and teacher of constitutional law. So when you do what I did, man, it's--what's the word--legitimization!
Domestically, sure you rag Wall Street, but you continued the big bail out of the bankers and their supporting cast. Sure, you're tougher with your words, but they deserve it--remember I said that the Wall Streeters "got drunk" and "got a hangover".
What I get such a kick out of is how you handled the unions and libs who backed you with dreams of Hope and Change. How smoothly you let them learn they got nowhere to go, just as we used to tell our conservative wing the same thing (though now they've been reborn as growling Tea Partiers). So, cardcheck, single payer, rolling back my Party's passage of legislation in Congress--you made them forget it!
You have been such a great president--backing me on so many things--keeping most tax cuts and shelters, support for my oil and gas buddies (my base), big loan guarantees for nukes, keeping Uncle Sam from bargaining down pharma, expanding free trade, not going tough on China (my Daddy especially liked this one), avoiding class struggle rhetoric and so on.
You want to know how confident I am about you? Even though you called waterboarding "torture," I proudly admitted approving its use to protect our country and its freedoms. Isn't that really what the Presidency is all about, along with honoring our troops and the entire national defense efforts?

Prophetic Church Amy Williams We´re called to be a prophetic people. This means we must be sharp in the word.
Prophetic church: “Take...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.’ (Ephesians 6:17) We take in the logos word, the written word in the Bible, and it becomes a rhema word, a living, prophetic word, alive and powerful in our spirits. Are you sharp in the word? Do you read the bible? If you´re not someone who reads it regularly, daily, can you possibly be someone who is able to “take up the sword which is the word’? We´re called to be those who know the “now’ word, what God is speaking to us at the present time. This comes to us, yes, through reading the Bible, and also through prophetic ministry from those who are gifted in this. Take it in! Don´t be dull and lazy; let the word reach you and change you! The prophetic word brings direction and correction. Be eager to prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:1); be sharp in the word. Here is an example of a “now’ word for the Jesus Fellowship at the moment: trials bring sharpness and godly character.

Run My Race

My Child, allow My blood to qualify you once again for the race I have placed you in. Be not deceived by your circumstances or your failures into thinking that you have been disqualified from the race that I have qualified you to run.
My blood speaks louder than the wiles of the enemy. Trust Me and turn your eyes to Me as I show you My plans for you. Do not be discouraged by your own flesh or weaknesses. But remember that in weakness, I am strong.
Let My power break through the darkness that encamps around you. I will prevail when you have failed. Be not discouraged, My love. I will never disqualify you from the race that I have prepared for you for; the race which My Son has already won.
Follow His footsteps, beloved. Remember that each step may not be easy, and even painful at times, but you have a forerunner who has finished and won the race. And now, you run not alone, but empowered by My Holy Spirit. So beloved, allow Me to strengthen your feeble knees and heal that which is lame within you, as I set My seal of qualification upon you to finish the race. The blood of My Son covers you. Run, My child, and follow the blood stained footsteps. I love you.

Background Story (1 Kings 17-19): The Story of Elijah
For some weeks now, the Holy Spirit has been leading me to meditate on the various events taking place in Elijah's life as found in 1 Kings 17-19. And as I began to chew and ponder on them, certain significant points captured my attention:
· God gave Elijah an assignment to speak a prophecy to King Ahab and he obeyed.
· God then led him for three years in a quiet life while waiting for that time to come.
· Elijah followed God's leading as he was led to the brook where ravens fed him; and later on God led him to the house of the widow, with whom he stayed for a while.
· In all this time, Elijah was hidden by God and his ministry was pretty much limited. Yet, in many ways, the Lord had proven Himself to be strong and real to Elijah through the miracles that He performed in his midst.
· On the third year, God called Elijah out to the open and this time he had to confront King Ahab, the false prophets of Baal and Asherah, and the people of Israel in an open, public venue.
Parallel Event in Our Midst
There are many children of God who received a calling from the Lord, and in the process have given up much to follow God and be where they are today. Literally or symbolically, they have given up jobs, families and opportunities to be where they felt God wants them to be.
Like Elijah, they too had their share of brooks and ravens and widow experiences. They too received many confirmations from the Lord about the vision He had given them, and God had littered their paths with many small miracles during the years that they obeyed His leading and believed His plans and purposes for their lives, their families, their churches and even their nations – and waited for Him to bring the unveiling and fulfillment of these visions.
Today, in the Heavenlies, God has summoned a great crowd to witness the public unveiling of His chosen saints, to witness the great work that He is about to do in their midst.
But, at the same time, Satan and his hordes, like king Ahab and his false prophets, are also determined to stop God's children from entering into their shining moment.
Our spiritual enemy is throwing everything at us this season with the goal to discourage us, confuse us, and sow doubt and anxiety into the heart of God's chosen people.
His ultimate intentions are to stop us from believing God for our promises, to divert us from our calling, and to lead us to deviate from the place where God has promised to place us.
Be Still and Know that God is in Full Control
Satan's attack comes in various forms. Incurable diseases and financial instability come. The order of households and businesses are disrupted. Friendships and relationships are tried and tested. Words are twisted. Faith in God is stretched to the limit. All these are the works of the forces of darkness who are out in full force to stop us, God's glorious army, from being unveiled; an army of saints that has waited quietly, faithfully, joyfully, wholeheartedly and sacrificially.
The time for God to bring them out to public view is ALMOST AT HAND. Just like in Elijah's time, great power and anointing will be manifested in all they do from this time forward. The people will see how God works for them, with them and in them. And all will know that God is in their midst, and their works and ministry will be known and acknowledged by many, and many nations will be drawn to them.
Truly, the time for God's vindication is at hand. So for now, no matter what storm is brewing in your midst, no matter what weapons the enemy is throwing toward you, just be still and know that God is in full control.
Now is the time for us to REST and WAIT FOR GOD. He is fighting this battle for us.
"May Your Unfailing Love Rest Upon Us, Even as We Put Our Hope in You"
To all His children to whom this message is being addressed, this is our promise for this season.
"Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him... Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. From Heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth – He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

The Evangelical Establishment

During the last 100 years, when Evangelical Christianity was waging war for converts, certain questionable practices were overlooked. But we're no longer the "kook fringe." We ARE the establishment. The frenzy of wartime mentality, characterized by wild claims of battle successes that never were, must be replaced with reasonable, honest results. And it's time to take thought for the wounded. For every truly saved American, (the Holy Spirit lives in them) there are at least 6 more that have said a "salvation prayer" and think they're saved as the result.
Many of these gave up on God and are now the cynical, "I tried that before" sinners that call people who go to church hypocrites. These are the most vocal haters of true Christianity. Their hatred is fueled by a dream that proved to be in their case, only a nightmare...
Tares In The Churches
If less than 10% of Americans are saved, (the Holy Spirit lives in them) then over half the people who go to church on Sunday are horribly deceived. Every poll, every statistical analysis, every internal and external church study shows what every evangelist and pastor knows: The majority of people who go to church in America are the moral equivalent of heathen.
Bill Bright, who should know (...see Blinded By The Bright) said, "...many who call themselves Christians are not really Biblical Christians at all. Although they may be religious people who attend church regularly, they have never experienced the new birth and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."
Dr. Rod Bell, president of the Fundamentalist Baptist Fellowship of America, believes 50% of people that go to church are lost.
Evangelist Luis Palau said of the 80% of Americans who claim to be Christian, "few live any differently from pagans or atheists, as though God has no claim on their lives."
Dr. James Dobson admitted that, "The majority of Americans are dabbling in religious expression that has no substance."
A.W. Tozer said "probably less than one out of ten evangelicals knows anything experientially about the new birth."
While church leaders all acknowledge the problem, most think evangelical Christians live like heathen because of a "lack of sanctification." Instead of trying to get them saved so they'll be changed by the Holy Spirit , we try to get them to act like Christians. After 100 years, winds of doctrine have effectively buried the Bible teaching of holistic salvation. Forensic or legal salvation has been exalted above experiential salvation to the point where the landmarks of power over sin and the workings of the Holy Spirit are buried like treasure, waiting to be exposed.
The Evangelical church is at the same point the Catholic church was when Luther brought reformation. Like that reformation, this reformation will require a return to a Biblical understanding of holistic salvation. We need to stop putting a "salvation prayer" Band-Aid on cancer and telling people they're healed. Like Luther, we have to return to a Biblical understanding of saving faith. Like Luther, we need to acknowledge that, "he who has been made righteous does works of righteousness."
Just as Luther unmasked the deceptive practice of indulgences, we must unmask the deceptive practice of leading people in a formula "salvation prayer." "When the penny drops, a soul is released from Purgatory" was almost as harmful as, "when you sincerely repeat this prayer, your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life." The first practice gave sinners the confidence that their friends and relatives could buy their way out of Purgatory. The second statement offers the sinner no-fault insurance from Hell.
Most people who attend Evangelical churches ignore the "small print" and go right to the bottom line: Because they said a salvation prayer, God doesn't see their sin...they're covered by the blood of Christ. So they can go on sinning without the fear of God. In fact, most are taught there's nothing they can do that will disqualify their free ticket to heaven. "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?" Rom 6:1 Yes, says modern evangelism. "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" James 2:20 No, says modern evangelism. Faith without works is normal for most American Evangelical Christians.
There is no longer a need for showing forth the fruits of repentance, (Mattew 7:18) or making your election sure. (1 Peter 1:10) A youth pastor I know told a group of mostly lost teens, if they committed suicide, they'd still go to heaven. What kind of distorted theology would cause a minister to say such a thing to a group of teens most of which had no evidence of being saved? This is the result of the scandal of modern evangelism. We have become arrogant with the Scriptures,."... in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." -2 Peter 3:16. "God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" -Rom 6:2-3.
No Evangelical evangelist or pastor before 1900 would have looked at the condition of people who go to church today and concluded their carnality was the result of "lack of sanctification." They would accurately conclude that the vast majority were never saved. The next question they would ask is, "why do they think they're saved?" The answer is the scandal of modern evangelism.
Revival Or Irrelevance
The Evangelical establishment has a choice to make. Either recognize that churches are full of heathen, and try to make them into saints, or become as irrelevant as most European churches. Either return to God's way - complete transformation of the individual by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, or continue throwing precious resources into worldly social reforms, becoming just another welfare program...
