The Mark of the Beast
The two-horned beast of Revelation enforces the Mark of the Beast, either directly or through the image of the first Beast in which he derives his power. These two horns were like a lamb's but he spoke as a dragon and
He will be given control over the economies and the military of the New World Order in the last days and oppose God's people. Anyone who will not pledge allegiance to the Beast will be put in a situation where economic sanctions are enforced so that they cannot buy or sell in the market-place.
The two-horned Beast is identified as the False Prophet and will be working closely with the Anti-Christ.
If the mark is taken before the false prophet appears, who knows how many millions of Christians have taken the Mark of the Beast already. That god that George Bush hears that tells him to invade Iraq can clearly be seen as the image of the Beast. The mark will be enforced with the Anti-christ, the beast and the false prophet but even now, those who have refused to accept the truth have grounded them in an ignorance reserved only for the fools who fall with these two. Christians, under the delusion themselves are taught that a literal Mark of the Beast will be given others left behind after they are taken up in the rapture. Sleepy shepherds have lulled them into thinking that they are all saints and will not undergo the trials, separation and tribulation that is going on at the beginning of sorrows. Some think that they are all holy and sanctified already while others do not even know that it is necessary. The foolish virgins that Jesus taught about have not trimmed their lamps with the oil of the Holy Ghost yet are primed and ready for the False Prophet while they praise a false christ in vain. The Mark of the Beast is spiritual, not physical, to think that it is a bar code or tattoo or some other nonsense takes away from the truth and puts the present reality of it into a dark future. Whoever represents Babylon and worships the Image of the Beast have already taken it.
Comte placed the intellect near the forward part of the brain so that it is direct communication with the organs of perception. The Mark of the Beast at the forehead lies in the consciousness. It is a collective consciousness where the whole of Christendom, save a remnant, have set their minds to the worship of the image of the Beast and think that they are serving God. In the church they are considered fishers of men but since their nets are on the wrong side of the boat, they tempt others to worship the Beast with them. Babylon represents in part, the nature of the Beast at the right hand that ends up exploiting the masses, and then imposes sanctions on those nations that do not worship its image or have taken its mark. The Seal of the Living God is its counterpart and represents the Bride of Christ and those that are part with them. The Mark can be shaken off but that is a limited time offer.
Much of the Book of Revelation is symbolic and these truths can only be found by spiritualizing the visions. The words of John are parables with cryptic clues to deeper meanings. We must at least be open to the suggestion that the Mark in the hand is not literal but figurative. The idea that the whole world would be able to take a physical mark or choose not to would be too obvious to recognize. It has a more subtle, spiritual connotation as politics or religion. Those that believe that they will be raptured beforehand will suggest that it a physical mark that will be enforced after the church is taken up. If it is spiritual then it will take people unawares and the difference does make a difference. The thought that Christians might be inadvertently serving the Beast in their employment or voting habits today would never come to mind.
After Babylon falls, the third angel of the Apocalypse says with a loud voice,

He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell save he that had the mark or the name of the Beast or the number of his name.
And the Beast was taken and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the Mark of the Beast and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
The deception of the False Prophet seems to be toward those that have previously taken the Mark of the Beast and extends from there unto the whole world. If any man worship the Beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
