More---thingsI have learned

Here is a subject that I do not like to touch very much---Myself. Everywhere I find myself, people want to know about me. My past is not one to be proud of, but if because of my experience, some may be helped and healed then praise the ever living God.

First of all, I would like to dispel the myth of once an addict always an addict. This may be true of secular programs, but not God's program. With Christ, there is the potential to be a new creation, learning from the past not dwelling there.

These are helpful things that has helped me, and I pray grace may abound, to help others.

Persistence is a habit ; so is quitting. Scripture to study. [Heb. 12:1 ; 1 Cor. 15:58 ; 2 Pet. 3:14 ; Prov. 22:29].

Never worry about how much money, ability, or equipment you are starting with. Just begin with a million dollars worth of determination . Remember : its not what you have, its what you do with what you have that makes all the difference. Many people eagerly begin ' the good fight of faith,' but they forget to add patience, persistence, and endurance to their enthusiasm.

[God has abolished] Read Isa.1 12-14. The new law of Jesus Christ is that we ourselves become a spiritual offering unto God. Keep your spirits pure [no vain or evil imaginings]. Approach God through your spirits [have a broken heart]. Be diligent on this so that our adversary can't set up a stronghold in us, and deprive us of our spiritual life as God has it [Zoe].

The habitation of our heart is the Holy Temple of the Lord. To walk in faith we must venture upon His word, we must believe before we see, and go forward in faith. Be of a lowly stature before God. Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain. Amen! The answer came from above in his soul. It was given into his hands to shut and open heaven. And depending upon this, he prophesized drought with Divine infallibility. We must learn how great a power of humility has with God. You want to be clean, you can do it for it is God's will in your life.

The Spirit of God is a light, searching out the inward parts of our very being. Let us concider then how near he is to us, and how that none of our thoughts, or reasonings which we frame within ourselves, are hid from Him.

Ask yourself---Do you know God, just what do you behold of Him? The attributes of God is whatever God has in any way revealed, He will always be true to Himself. Faith is knowledge of God, and love is of experience. Ask yourself how do I approach God, how can I lay hold of Him.

What is the vail, that great gulf between God and man? It is the cloud of the unknowning. This shouild not be discouraging to us, but to set our will with naked intent unto God. This cloud is between the seeker and God so that he may never see God clearly by the light of understanding nor feel Him in the emotions. But by the mercy of God Faith can break through into His Presence if the seeker but believe the Word and press on.

Finding out what God is like affects life, character, and destiny. God has revealed himself in nature, in Scriptures, and in the Person of His Son.

What God declares the believing heart confesses without need of further proof. Faith must preceed all effort to understand. The believing man does not ponder the Word and arrive at faith by process of reasoning, nor does he seek confirmation of faith from philosophy or science. Indeed, to seek proof is to admit doupt, and to obtain proof is to render faith superfluous. With God you can be pure and clean.
