The Upper Room
The upper room was apparently in the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, the one central meeting-place of the Church of Jerusalem throughout the apostolic age. The church is Identified with the scene of the Holy Ghost as taking place in the
Upper Room of the Holy and Glorious Zion, Mother of all the Churches.
The Upper Room was the headquarters of the Jerusalem Church and the scene of the last supper. Returning from the Ascension of the Savior, the eleven have returned from the Mount of Olives and go to the Upper Room. This is now their regular place of meeting in Jerusalem. In that Upper Room are not only the eleven, but also Mary the mother of Jesus and His brethren.
